The University Of Western Australia - ALVA Studio

The ALVA Studio on the Nedlands Campus at The University of Western Australia refurbished an existing Music / Drama building into teaching studios and meeting rooms.

The teaching spaces can be used in teaching mode during normal school hours yet be capable of opening up into a gallery / exhibition space for end of semester displays and presentations. Keeping the interiors fairly neutral to let the drawings and exhibits take centre stage, pops of colour were introduced in the exposed structural beams to inject some vibrancy into the space.

The spaces all have interactive audio visual facilities catering for each different teaching mode.
